Three Things I Love About Being a Web Developer

“Every great developer you know got there by solving problems they were unqualified to solve until they actually did it.” – Patrick McKenzie

There are plenty things to love about web development believe it or not. Sure sometimes the errors are painful, and trying to find the right CSS property to apply is a hassle. But overall I’d say it’s pretty fun. How? Well, let’s start.

Being a web dev is a unique way of combining design, marketing, and technology in a way not many other fields do. It allows you to get your crazy ideas and make them into something people can see on their phones to use every day. Be it a web app to order food, or maybe a reservation at a restaurant with some weird looking 3D chicken leg rotating in the background. It’s all possible!

The other thing I like about what I do is how challenging it can be! It’s fun to always have some sort of problem to solve, even if it means finding the problem yourself. You can come up with solutions that people may not have even realized they needed. Not only that, but when you actually sit in front of the computer to do it, there’s lines upon lines of potential mistakes for you to make. Quite thrilling.

Quick Tip!

When you’re creating the website of your dreams, it’s important to choose the right theme. That’s why I made a post about it that you can find here.

The last thing on my list would be how you can make websites from anywhere as long as you have a laptop with you. I’m a big fan of traveling and living in different places, so the amount of remote jobs available for us is a huge plus for me. Who wouldn’t love a little coding next to a beautiful beach in the Maldives? Maybe some Javascript while eating pizza in Rome? It’s a hard offer to say no to!

Anyway, those are the main three things I love about being a web developer. Don’t get me wrong, it can be frustrating at times. But the benefits and the cool things you learn how to do far outweigh it. If you want to investigate a little further, you should watch this video to add to your internal knowledge base.
