WordPress themes already organize the content and functionality of your site so you may focus on the overall design of the site. Many things I consider when choosing a theme are things such as the look and feel of a site, the distinction between the desktop and mobile site, and the overall performance of your site under the theme. Considering all these things will ensure that your site has the right look for your business and the functionality that won’t drive away visitors. I chose this theme specifically because I like to go for a modern design in my websites, minimal color scheme with sleek text font and layout.

I agree that the feel of a website is very important. While I performance is also very important, there is something to be said for a website that is aesthetically pleasing.
