So today I wanted to do a post about a pretty important topic, web development resources. No matter your skill level it is important to have trusted resources you can go to to help solve pesky problems. A great resource that I’ve used for WordPress has been “WordPress, the missing manual” by Mathew MacDonald. It is very beginner friendly and features step-by-step instructions on how to handle a lot of WordPress tasks such as choosing a web host, installing WordPress, creating posts and pages, working with media, and a lot more.
I know that a lot of web developers deal with more than just WordPress. W3schools have been a great general resource for me as I’ve learned different subjects in web development. They have tutorials and code examples for so many different topics such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap and a so much more. I’ve used it as a trusted resource for different programming languages like Python, C#, and PHP. I can’t say how great of a reference it has been for me.
If you want something with a more structured learning path there are a lot of great options. You can attend a bootcamp, pursue a certificate from a community college, an associate degree, or even a bachelors but those aren’t your only options for getting started. There are a bunch of self paced online courses that take you through a structured tutorial. One of my favorites is freecodecamp.org. They have a lot of cool information that can help you get your web development journey started.
