“If debugging is the process of removing software bugs, then programming must be the process of putting them in”
-Edsger Dijkstra
I haven’t been in the web development scene for long, but I thought I’d write my first post about the things I love about web development. I’m still new to it but I am definitely enjoying my journey.
One, I love that web development as a career is not location dependent. Some jobs are tied to certain regions or geographic areas. If you decide you want to move to another state, you could have a hard time finding a similar job or your industry might not even operate in that state. As a web developer you can pretty much work anywhere you can get a good internet connection.
Another thing I like about web development is that it provides an opportunity for me to work on my problem solving. Ever since I was a kid, I loved working through problems and there’s no shortage of problems to be solved in the web development world. Thankfully there are plenty of resources to help you refine your skills and plenty of forums to discuss common or niche problems that you and others have run into.
Finally, one of the things I love about web development is that it is relatively new to me, and I love learning new things. In the last year and a half, I have learned more about web development than I ever would have expected. I can’t wait to see where it takes me in the next 5 years. Lucky for you, you can follow my journey on this blog!
