About Me

Patrick Jeffers

I’m Patrick, I’m 33 and I grew up and currently reside in Charlotte, NC. I went to school in 2007 for Transport Systems Technologies, receiving and Associates Degree and specializing in BMW. Here I learned to diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems including wiring, engine repair and maintenance. Following graduation I began my career in automotive, continuing to learn through experience and eventually obtaining 9 core ASE certifications and an ASE Master Certification. One of my hobbies has always been guitar. I began playing when I was 10 and often played with friends in various bands growing up. In 2007, after helping write and produce a first full length record, our band A Hero A Fake landed a record deal with Victory Records. After much negotiation, our plans were to all finish college first and then see where this opportunity could take us. We ended up writing and recording 3 full length records and touring nearly all of the continental US over the following 6 or so years. This was a dream of ours and an opportunity we we’re incredibly fortunate to be able to chase. After some rebranding we subsequently released another EP under the name Bornstellar but ended up dissolving the group shortly after. My work in the automotive industry continued and is still my current occupation. In 2019 I made the decision to go back to school and work toward another Associates Degree in Information Technology with an emphasis on Full Stack Programming. I am currently in my final semester, having taken all but one course at Central Piedmont Community College and the other at Wake Tech. After the completion of my final two courses, I plan to graduate in December. With this new education and the skills I have gained over the last few years I hope to transition careers and move into the tech industry. By joining the workforce as a junior developer, I hope I can continue to learn and grow my skills through real world work experiences. As well as software development, my other hobbies include travel, hiking with my dog, being a food and coffee snob, and all forms of motorsports and racing. I have been building and developing my racecar for many years and enjoy taking it to various events throughout the year. I compete in some local Autocross events with the SCCA and drive some other track day events at local larger racetracks as well as practicing with sim racing in between. I also volunteer on occasion for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Charlotte to support a loved one as well as so many others that continue to battle with CF.
