An Individual who specializes in the development of web applications through the use of coding and programming.
Specialized Web Development Positions
Back-end Web Developers:
Think of them as digital construction workers! They build and help manage the basic framework of the requested website and are heavily involved with major change inquiries. They also ensure functionality and flexibility for future changes.
Front-end Web Developers:
These individuals focus on the website’s technical features. Some include coding programs with various programming languages in order to develop the websites technical layout and its content.
Web Interface Designers:
They spark the digital creativity by tackling the visual design of the website. When we hear the word designer we think of masters of colors, layouts, typography, and media! Needless to say, if creativity is your passion, then this position may be your best fit!
Webmasters:
These are your maintenance workers, ensuring that the website is functioning as it should and is up to date with the latest technology and trends!

Educational Requirements
The entry level educational requirements for a web developer are as low as a high school diploma and as high as a bachelor’s degree. These requirements are dependent on the business offering employment. It comes to no surprise that the more established and well-known a business is the higher the educational completion expectancy.
Necessary Skills
Teamwork and Communication:
Due to the size and complexity of building and managing a website, the job requires may contributor in order to be successful. Therefore, an idea candidate will need to understand how to communicate well with their teammates and in some cases teams in other departments.
Creativity:
Like many jobs, there is a great amount of creativity that is required when building a website. The website must be both visually appealing and functional based off of the client’s expectancies.
Customer Service:
Having a visually pleasing and functional website is not enough to keep customers interested in a company brand. One bad experience can decrease a customer’s willingness to continue business with a company. Therefore, customer service skills are essential to ensuring that customer needs are met, and conflicts are resolved.
Detail Oriented:
This is a crucial skill; one small coding error can render a webpage useless. The also ensure a smooth experience for your coworkers when changing or updating a line of code.
Problem-Solving:
The is an all-around necessary skill. No matter how well we plan something problems are sure to arise due to unfactored variables. This skill represents the ability to calmly evaluate an issue and find solutions.
