When we are not eating, we are looking for something to occupy our time. At Biltmore, there is a great deal to do. From outdoor activities and playgrounds suited for all ages, to lush and alive biking and hiking trails, we have the sites and experiences to comfort both body and soul.

Small Group Tours

A more intimate experience of Biltmore House, this expert-guided tour casts each member of your party in the role of one of the Vanderbilts’ very first guests! Featuring fascinating stories and exclusive “behind-the-ropes” entry into rarely-accessed areas of the house, you’ll enjoy America’s Largest Home® from an entirely new perspective.

Available only with the Expert-Guided Visit Plus ticket option. Guests must be at least 10 years old for Expert-Guided Visit. Backpacks are not allowed on any guided tours. Guests are required to leave backpacks in a locker or in their vehicle.

From our historic gardens and woodland trails to the meadows along the French Broad River, enjoy Biltmore at your own pace with nearly 22 miles of hiking trails on the estate. Orientation and detailed maps available at the Bike Barn and Outdoor Adventure Center.

Explore the estate via more than 20 miles of biking trails, access to which is free for all guests*! Choose from our well-marked, single-track woodland dirt trails for a challenging ride, or our flat, paved trail along the French Broad River for a more leisurely ride. Bring your own bike or rent one from us.

Biltmore’s Bike Barn, located on the second floor of Antler Hill Barn, is your one-stop location for all things biking. Rental bikes, trail-a-bikes, and trailers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No advance reservations are offered or required. We recommend all guests check in for a trail map and current trail conditions.

Come to Antler Hill Village to enjoy our playground, featuring activities that connect the estate’s past with your children’s imagination with fun, healthy play. To participate in this activity, guest must have a daytime ticket, a Biltmore Annual Pass, or a stay at one of the estate’s splendid overnight properties.

The Spa is Open

The Spa experience at The Inn on Biltmore Estate® is inspired by the Biltmore legacy of world-class hospitality and attention to detail. The lovely setting evokes the look and feel of Biltmore House in general and the persona of Edith Vanderbilt in particular.

Spa services are available to overnight guests of The Inn, Village Hotel, or Cottage, as well as to Biltmore Annual Passholders.

What to Expect for Your Spa Visit All guests and employees are required to wear face coverings at The Spa. All therapists are required to wear face coverings and pass daily health screenings. Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment in order to complete a registration form.

Falconry

Discover the ancient art of falconry on Biltmore’s historic grounds. Learn how to handle a trained hawk or falcon, then experience the inimitable thrill of a raptor flying to and landing upon your gloved hand. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity to interact with one of these majestic birds of prey.

Maximum of 6 participants.

To participate in this activity, guest must have a daytime ticket, a Biltmore Annual Pass, or a stay at one of the estate’s splendid overnight properties. Must be 8 years of age or older to participate. Guests under 17 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult. Guests encouraged to dress for the weather and wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Passholders receive a 10% discount.
