Chamber Of Commerce
The Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce strives to enhance the quality of life of the residents, stakeholders, and visitors to Pleasure Island and the contiguous community. The Chamber provides the business community with the leadership, advocacy, and representation needed to enhance its membership, their respective businesses, and quality of life while promoting the North Carolina communities of Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher.

Carolina Beach Fire Chief, Alan Griffin, was presented with his 10 year anniversary certificate at the Carolina Beach Council workshop on May 24th.
Michael and Katie Urti, owners of Utri Coastal Real Estate and Nauti Dog, won the Pleasure Island Entrepreneur of the Year at the Coastal Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
After years of enforcing strict regulations, the NCAA (the main governing body of college sports) last year removed its prohibition on student-athletes receiving monetary benefits. The change means athletes now can benefit from deals such as corporate sponsorships. It’s a new game that Shuckin’ Shack, which was established in 2007 at Carolina Beach, wants to play.

Get involved in your chamber. JOIN A COMMITTEE! You can be a vital force in the creation of a successful business community that will surely benefit your own business. Each of us is an important part of the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce. What we do to make our Chamber an active and productive force in our community is dependent on each of us supporting the goals we consider important. You can make a difference! Check our list of committees. If you are interested in serving, please choose the areas where you have specific interests. Fill out the "join a committee" form and the committee chair will contact you concerning your involvement. It is important that each committee represents a cross section of our membership, and that the size of the committees does not limit progress. If you have managers or other employees that would like to be involved in the Chamber committees and program of work, please list their names as well.
Committees
Fort Fisher, located on the southern expanse of Pleasure Island, allows you to step back in time at Fort Fisher Civil War Museum and discover the amazing world of the sea at the North Carolina Aquarium, all in one day. You'll also find the Fort Fisher State Recreation Site here, with four miles of undeveloped beach to explore at your disposal.
Every vacation pleasure you could hope for is waiting for you at Carolina Beach. Located at the north end of Pleasure Island, our town of about 6,000 friendly residents, has a quaint vintage feel sure to transport you back to your childhood days at the beach. In addition to miles of wide, clean beaches, we offer oceanfront and ocean view accommodations ranging from well-maintained 1950's era motels and cottages to upscale beach homes condos and hotels. Likewise, we have several very good family restaurants. You'll love the vintage decor and prices of our local restaurants dating back to our early days. Of course, no trip to Carolina Beach is complete without a visit to the famous Boardwalk where you can grab one of our renowned Britt's donuts, a cold glass of milk or tasty cup of coffee, head for the beach and watch the day come alive.
Kure (Cur-ee) Beach is Carolina Beach's friendly neighbor to the south. The town was established in 1870 with Hans Kure's arrival from Denmark. It now has approximately 2,500 year-round residents. Many of our guests come back year after year to be welcomed with the old-fashioned Southern hospitality of Kure Beach. We are mostly a residential community, dotted with many fine oceanfront and ocean view motels, condos and cottages to suit all tastes and budgets, including many luxurious beach homes. Of course, our beach is wide open and unspoiled; with all the elbowroom you could want for sunbathing, strolling, shelling, surfing or fishing.
